The Best Man

Gore Vidal`s play THE BEST MAN was an enormous success on Broadway in 1960--an election year. The story of a dying president who must endorse the man he hopes will be his successor (will it be the truly good man, or the consummate politician who is sure of getting elected?) was revived in 2000 in the midst of another presidential election.
